This is such a lovely, intimate wedding in the Austrian Alps for the sweet couple from California. The lovely bride is a ballet dancer, and the dashing groom, who looks after wild animals, chose Austria to honour his roots.
Most of the guests came from America, and some local folks even wore traditional Austrian clothes, called tracht, for the special occasion!
The lovely, eco-friendly hotel, which features wooden cabins, served as the venue. The open-air ceremony area provided sweeping views of the mountains, making every spot a natural backdrop for capturing the essence of their special day.
We were so lucky with the weather! It was sunny and calm all day. But when we finished the romantic photoshoot and the party started, a massive thunderstorm hit! We enjoyed the spectacular show from the covered terrace, staying dry and cozy.
Vienna is one thing, but the mountains are something else entirely! If you live in the city, you might not realize just how gorgeous the mountains are.
The real mountains are about four hours away from Vienna by car, but it's so worth it! If you only have one day, you might as well make the most of it! And if you can, try to plan at least one overnight stay.
Matthias and Svetlana were kind enough to invite me to do a photoshoot in Carinthia.
I arrived on Friday evening, and on Saturday we drove to the absolutely gorgeous village of Malta (I know, right?). From there, the mountain road takes you to the Kölnbreinsperre reservoir and the dam at an altitude of 1950m.
On the way, we passed a truly breathtaking waterfall, and of course, we just had to stop and take it all in. I'm so grateful to the locals for showing me these incredible spots. It was such an excitingly beautiful romantic shoot.
I hope you enjoy watching it!
I can not stop admiring the endless possibilities that Austria offers in choosing places for photography. The nature here is extraordinary: mountains, lakes, waterfalls, ancient castles and small cute towns.
This time we went to a castle called Aggstein. This place was shown to me by a couple, this is their special place for admiring the sunsets - the rock stands as if specially set there to enjoy a beautiful view. An ideal place for a romantic picnic for two and just an hour from Vienna.
Important recommendation! If you are going there, take care of comfortable shoes. There are no fences on the rock and you need to be very careful.
As for the photo shoot, I am very glad that it turned out to tell a love story, a bit in the Gothic style, due to the stylish outfits of the couple.
