This is a small intimate wedding in the Austrian Alps for the couple from California. The bride is a ballet dancer, and the groom, a wild animal caretaker, chose Austria to honor the groom's roots.
Most of the people came from America, and some local guests wore traditional Austrian clothing, called tracht, for the special occasion.
The eco-friendly hotel, featuring wooden cabins, served as the venue. The open-air ceremony area provided sweeping views of the mountains, making every spot a natural backdrop for capturing the essence of their special day.
We got very lucky with the weather — it was sunny and calm all day. But when we finished romantic photoshoot and the party started, a massive thunderstorm hit. We enjoyed the spectacular show from the covered terrace, staying dry and cozy.
One of the best memories of the last season.
Enjoy watching!
There is Vienna, and then there are the mountains. Living in the former, one may have little idea of the incredible beauty of the latter. The real mountains are about four hours away by car. Going there for one day is a rather criminal waste of time and if you are, make sure to plan at least one overnight stay.
Matthias and Svetlana invited me to do a photoshoot in Carinthia. I arrived on Friday evening and on Saturday we drove to the picturesque village of Malta (yes!), from which the mountain road leads to the Kölnbreinsperre reservoir and the dam at an altitude of 1950m. On the way, we passed a stunning waterfall and of course, we couldn't help but stop by.
Without the locals, I never would have known about these fantastic places. It turned out to be an excitingly beautiful romantic shoot. Enjoy watching it!
